Another Question

Postby Phyrrus » Mon Apr 30, 2007 12:15 pm

Sorry, i know this is almost becoming spam :P

I looked around the forum, and didn't see any financial races

How well would this race work:

+1.0 income (8 )
+1 research (3)
Democracy (7)
Large Home (1)

-20 attack (-2)
-20 defense (-2)
-10 ground (-2)
-10 spy (-3)

strengths:
3 gold from each citizen on any planet
+1 research with 50% gov bonus
democratic morale
large homeworld, less stress to build colony bases/ships

weaknesses:
-15% agent rating, need to waste time on spy techs
-10% spy rating
terrible in all forms of combat, need to tech up
tech is good but not creative, need to do trading

SINGLEPLAYER test results:

POSITIVE
-constantly swimming in cash
-ability to throw away 1000 credits without shedding a tear, when you make 200 a turn it hardly matters
-every good/expensive leader is hired
-bye bye trade goods
-completes research this turn, buys improvements next turn
(e.g. auto-factory, robo-miner, spaceport, research lab, holo)
-ability to pull cruisers/destroyers "out of my @$$" (buys it)
-ability to pull missle battery, fighter garrison, ground battery, or even starbases "out of my @$$" (buys it)
-ability to have -15 command points and still have positive income
-the whole galaxy seems to be neutral/friendly, other than repulsive
(bribery, treaties, tech trades)

NEGATIVE
-everyone i have contact with is stealing techs from me, have to waste valuable industry worlds on spies
-must invest lots of valuable research on spy and military techs, in order to keep up

Potential Multiplayer Weaknesses:
-everyone will blackmail you for money
-repulsive races would try to destroy you because you're handing out cash to everyone and they're the only ones not getting any
-Everyone will try to kidnap your citizens, because of the +1.0 income bonus and the +1 science bonus

See the guides thread in the Strategy and Tactics forum here. There are simply better prod races.

i was a prod race fanatic, the first time i played Moo2 i picked meklars, then i realized how cybernetic cripples your industry with pollution lol

well, i think i get the idea of what multiplayer is like, war, war and more war, and research better techs for supporting war production.
i can see how games can end much faster that way
