Ship and Leader Experience

Ships and Leaders gain experience as follows:

Per Turn - Ships and Leaders:
1 base Experience Point each turn.

Per Turn - Ships only:
1 EP for each Space Academy in their current home system.
X EP from the best Instructor available.

From Combat - Both Ships and Leaders:
1 Ep from each destroyed FF, DD, or CA
2 EP from each destroyed BB or TT
3 EP from each destroyed Doom Star

If you have destroyed enemy vessels and you opt to retreat your entire fleet, you will not gain EP.

If you have destroyed enemy vessels and a part of your fleet retreats, all vessels and leaders gain the same EP if you win the combat.

If you choose to select combat at an enemy system which has no defending fleet or bases, you will continue directly to the 'bombard planet' screen. If you then choose to cancel bombardment, your fleet and leaders still gain 1 extra EP.

EP you get from monsters, depends on their hull size.
Thus in classic moo2, you get 2 EP from the Guardian and 1 EP from system monsters.

Are there any things that affect a colony leader's experience?

Do they get more if assigned to a planet?

Do they get exp for battles (victories) in their systems? For battles (victories) elsewhere?

Is there any way (in game or otherwise) to check the current experience points of a leader (not counting estimating at time of hiring)?

Warlord, technically, but not the same way as for ships.
No
No
(assuming you're about colony leaders only here).
