Kali on Linux

hey i got a quick question here:
anyone got kali to work on linux??
i know they have a gtkali port for kali on linux version 1.0 from back in 2000
i havent had any luck trying to install the program
it says i need gtk installed, but i already have gtk on my computer
the gtkali configure file says it cant find the path for the gtk-config files
i was wondering if anyone knew how to setup the path for the gtk-config files
i have gtk 2.0 on my linux installed.
i use debian 3.1 r2 linux
anyhow, i got orion1.40 to work on my linux using dosbox, and it runs pretty good.
i was just wondering if anyone knew anything about linux kali, because ive seen maybe one or two people randomly show up on the moo servers with linux, so i was just wondering.
any help would be appreciated
