while playing against the comp., the following occured and i wanted to know if someone knew why.

i had 2 BBs and 2 CAs at a system. i attacked it, bombed it to unoccupied. then the same ships moved to the next system and did the same. i moved them back to the 1st planet i had bombed. enemy ships moved to the 2nd planet i bombed. i went to move my ships to the 2nd planet, but now i get the red line telling me it is too far. i was just there a 2 turns ago!! no special events are taking place that prohibit ship movement.

why does this happen? not the 1st time it has.

Did they destroy an outpost or other planet of yours?

no, i flew over, took a planet, flew back, they retook the planet and when i tried to move back there, i couldnt

The only other thing I can think of is that the fleet you took the planet with had Extended Fuel Cells, and then got joined up with a ship that didn't. That would make you not able to move as far.
