What other game can you play for TWELVE YEARS???!?

I bought MOO2 as a lark, 12 years ago.

It has yet to bore me. The Hard setting was so hard, I only started beating it 5 years ago. Impossible is still impossible -- I think I beat it once.

The VERY best 29.95 I have ever spent.

EVER.

I can beat impossible about 90% of the time using

Repulsive
Creative
Telepathic
Unification
-10 Ground Combat

The key is to very early on to smash up a couple of races and mind control their colonies.

Yep.
MOO2, Starcraft (with or without the Brood War Expansion), and Empire Earth 1 (with Art of Conquest Expansion).
MOO1 Fan, MOO2 Fan, MOO3 needed too many changes = hopeless, getting older waiting for a MOO4 (still).

How long has Railroad Tycoon 2 been out? I remember getting the original game not long after it came out for the Amiga, then maybe 5 years ago I saw the Platinum Edition for $10 (for PC) so I snapped it up and still play it. (I'm also occasionally working on a couple of my own scenarios.)
Why do they get to attack me without war being declared, but I can't do the same?

Civ III, Dawn of War, Chess.

I see a pattern developing here.

I also return to Eve Online frequently, but sometimes I replace the game's soundtrack with that of MOO2. Goes quite surprisingly well. 8)

I'll go out on a limb and predict that I might still be playing Space Empires 5 after 12 years.

Yes, it's that good. Still a couple of bugs and UI improvements I'd like to see addressed, but I'm spending way too much time playing this game for my own good. (patches have slowed now, but safe bet that there'll be more.)

Some Space Empires 5 games might take 12 years to finish, so ya it could be around that long.

The people at Microprose could potientially make another MOO so we might see something cool in the near future.
