Hey, anyways in case you can't tell I am new here.
Anyways, must of the time i play offline with my two little brothers. I have a pretty good telepathic spy race i use for rushing, and a good lithovore teching race.
What i don't have is a good population based production race.
Is unification - subterranean - aquatic still a good combination? Looking through the guides of what was online most people either go just aquatic or just subterranean.
Usually i do unification - subterranean - aquatic - -10 spy - +20attack?
Is that any good? and if not what do you guys recommend?
Population Races
I like uni aqua sub prod1 for a pop race. Or rich hw instead of prod1.
Thats almost a secure racepick combination to generate some decent pop.
A 2prod race with aqua or sub (or 1prod tol) can surely pop faster, but they have sometimes more trouble with the neighborhood. But they can better blitz in these cases then.

Those are both good choices.
I have another I have tried:
(6)Uni, (5)Aq, (6)Prod +2, (3)Pop +50.
(-6)Repulsive, (-2) -10 Grd.Cmbt., (-2) -10 Shp Def
Great production, rapid growth.
shift pop. to planets, so, they never max out, and you will do well.
If you are lucky to have a subteranean opponent in your game, capture at least 1 colony, shift off 1 pop. to every one of your planets, and their subteranean bonus is transferred with them.
Only cost is a mixed races penalty of -20% (yes, on food, prod, sci, (and $$ I think). (Of course, you have +1 pop bonus more than your other race)
Usually, the pop, will make up for this penalty in the long run.
This way you get more production and a six point subteranean pick for free.

MOO1 Fan, MOO2 Fan, MOO3 needed too many changes = hopeless, getting older waiting for a MOO4 (still).
