Leaders, question about the Asterix

Hi, some leaders have an asterix next to some of the bonuses they give. I can't for the life of me understand what it means (it doesn't seem to be documented anywhere). For example, Grogg the Gnolam Capilatist's "Labor Leader" has no asterix, but Xantus the Supreme Leader has an asterix next to his "Labor Leader" trait. Anyone clue me in?

This means that his "basic skill" is 50% better than the "basic skill" of the other leaders in that category.

But keep in mind that this "basic skill" is multiplied with the experience level. So high experienced leaders without asterisk can actually have a higher bonus.
