Main web site and this board is a 1024x768 web site and it looks abit ugly on 800x600. Its nothing big really. But tables with % instead of hard numbers would be nicer

Main web site and this board is a 1024x768 web site and it looks abit ugly on 800x600. Its nothing big really. But tables with % instead of hard numbers would be nicer

I thought about 800x600 when I designed the site but decided against based on the visitor stats I have been collecting. These are pretty typical numbers for any given day:

43.00% 1024x768
37.00% 1280x1024
10.00% 1152x864
6.00% 800x600
3.00% Unknown
1.00% 1600x1200

And of course it has to look good in a number of different browsers:

41.00% MSIE 6.0
19.00% Firefox 1.0.4
17.00% Opera 7.52
11.00% Opera 8.01
10.00% Firefox 1.0.6
2.00% Firefox 1.0.3

I gave it a lot of thought and settled on a banner at the top that is designed for 1024 width. The banner width will not change based on the screen resolution of the visitor. Most of the tables are made with %. It is the banner that sets the width of the whole site.
