Hello,
I just started playing MOO2. I am getting close to the point where I would like to play online. The readme says that the Win95 version doesn't work with the DOS version. Most people use the DOS version to play online but I only have the Win95 version. Does anyone know where you could find the DOS version? I checked eBay but it's difficult to tell if they are the DOS or Win95 version.
Hello
Most CDs contain both versions. But you dont even need to buy it.
See steps 3 and 4 in this link.

Add the rkernel.com file and apply the 1.31 zip patch (contains the missing files). This works for most players.

I have practiced extensively against the AI but since it puts up little to no challenge its hard to gauge how effective my strategies will be against other players.Hi Matthew,
It might be a good idea to practice alittle in single player mode to improve your speed times and to learn advantages/disadvantages of the picks.
Wouldn’t be better to learn by playing against other players? I expect to lose my first 10 or so games until I get a feel for what race picks/tech paths work best.
So far I have played Gusset once and stem twice. I lost all three because of a sub-optimal tech path choice. Was able to keep up in terms of expansion and population but their tech choices won out in the end. From now on, I will probably follow the online guide's recommended tech path.
