Scrolling speeds

Postby Evilreaver » Fri Feb 03, 2006 3:45 pm

Hey everyone, I just reinstalled this classic game and have a slight problem that I hope you can help me with...

I have a slight problem with my scrolling speeds, namely in combat. If I put my mouse to the edge of the screen, the window flies (almost snaps) to the edge, making combat really aggrivating. Also, ships fly immediatly in combat to their positions rather than 'flying' there, there's no more good animation :( Weapons fire still work how I remember.

I am using the Windows 1.31 version on a XP SP2 system. I was thinking about getting 1.4, but it doesn't say anything about fixing that, and I only really want to play single player anyway (going online? I'd get stomped).

Any suggestions? I'd think this would be a big issue but don't see anything about it.

When I run the DOS version, it's a little slower but still way too fast.
Does the 1.4 patch fix this? Is there a command line to help?

Alright, now we're getting somewhere. What do you mean, "slowdown tool" and "dosbox"? Some details, or a link, or something?

Please don't act like I have any idea what you're talking about.

Edit: I found Dosbox but can't get it to run MOO2, it just says "Cannot find game files, reinstall or insert CD"

Edit: Alright, I got that, but now no sounds and that's as aggrivating to run as the problem it solves. Any other solutions?

Turbo turbo.zip The most effective CPU slower available. Specifically tailored to Win2k/XP's NTFS file system. Also works on other windows versions. Great windows-based program!

When in combat, click Options, then make sure Fast Animations are UNCHECKED !

This should slow your ships down, if it still persists, it's your fast processor, not the game.
MOO1 Fan, MOO2 Fan, MOO3 needed too many changes = hopeless, getting older waiting for a MOO4 (still).
