Hi guys, this site is awesome.

Finally broke down and scrounged my old parts together to build a legacy win 98 machine. Yay.

Played Moo2 for the first time in forever..been CRAVING it. Had a blast but there seemed to be a bug preventing me from refitting ships.

Upon patching to 1.31, i get the RACESTUF.lbx error.

I wonder if this is because I just installed all the Microsoft updates on this win 98 machine. I'm pretty sure 1.31 was working back in the day.

Happy gaming.

I hope this Support thread can be of help to you.

Siron seems to indicate there may be a corrected v1.31 patch.

Hm why install Win98 if you can use Linux ?
Get yourself a nice Linux distro with wine.
Runs like a charm no lockups, no mouse problems...

What would be the logic then, Alex, to register?

If I may...

Perhaps to ask questions if necessary- or to have to ability to inform the community of any "cheating" that may take place. Beyond that, there are always lurkers on any board- and in any community, the percentage of people in the community, that participate in its forum boards is often rather small.

The world's internet forums are full of lurkers. I don't think this forum is any different from most of the forums I read and/or participate in. People sometimes don't want to post...you know the phrase: "It is better to be silent and thought a fool than to speak and confirm it." Not always the best policy, but one that is often subscribed to.

Registering when you don't plan to post very often (or at all) makes sense because it makes it easy to keep track of new messages.

For a game that has been out for around ten years, the forum is suprisingly active. I think its safe to say that there isn't much in the way of new material to talk about, besides the occasional new mod.

I think The_Tibster hit home on one point as well, this forum is an excellent place for help and installation info.

Its probably also safe to say that alot of members are simply passing thru. Just getting their MOO fix and touching base with the hardcore community in the meantime. I see alot of posts like "Haven't played MOO2 in a while and was wondering . . .", and its great that they can get their answers here.

Noone will ever master moo2 in a ~perfect way, every player has his strength, his weaken and his likings about races & strategies. I can say for myself I learn in every game I play some usefull experiences. I play moo2 online since ~2 years ... !

Great Game :) !

The most is already said about moo2, but mods and features around the game will be discussed here.

Many players float in and out sometimes they every few months sometimes every few years. If you paly on kali long enough you will see this, one thing I have noticed they all come back even if for a couple days/weeks they all return.
Behold the power of moo, heeh.
