Sound Problems

When I initiate the 1.40 version, I get some cracked sound...the music is discontinuous, as well as all other sounds. I did edit the sound files as directed in LordBlazen's directions.
Are you running MS-DOS thru Windows XP? If so this thread I started may be helpful in the support section:
