Does enyone know what is the range of issueing commands With subspace comm. ? The description says 6 squares which is wrong: i moved my ships 5 squares away from SB (ion and leader) and couldn't turn them back... which will cost me a game i'm affraid ;)...

AlexD observed this problem in one of his games against dmitry. It is also mentioned in my bug list. But I havent seen any saves yet. Would be nice to compare the circumstances.

I had a look into the saves and here is my impression:

1. subspacecomm works within 5parsecs.

i.e.

2. leaving the starbase with 5 parsec/turn means always out of range.

3. but 4.99999 parsec is still in subspacecomm range.

The online help is incorrect.

Yes, I believe this is the case. I cant remember ever having subspace work for me when I needed to turn around. I rarely bother with it at all, but the few times I had it and needed it, it let me down.

Actually, it is not correct. There are a few exceptions (see link).

I figured out the maths and here are the details. I guess the missing parsec was not intended by the game designers.

I wonder if LB could increase subspace comm range to <6 parsecs in next patch...as it is considered as a bug.
