Melting Pot and Win XP

Postby Andy Brown » Mon Feb 25, 2008 8:22 pm

I've returned to MOO2 after several years. First time I've run it on an XP system.

I'm trying to use Melting Pot but it wont start. Keeps Telling me "Run-time error '53': File not found".

Can some one tell me which file Melting Pot is looking for? I suspect it's some sort of earlier Windows file.

Any help appreciated.

No idea, but FileMon or ProcMon allows to identify failed file access attempts under Windoze. Just download from Sysinternals, launch, set MeltingPot in its include filter when asked, then start MeltingPot and you'll see what's wrong, it will appear in log immediately. Even easier if you'll turn off "Log successes".
