Hello All!

At last I have created the English version of page for the my package "MoO2 Workshop". You can download the current version at my site: http://mo3.fatal.ru/moo2_workshop_eng.htm

"MoO2 Workshop" is a set of tools for viewing and editing of MoO2 files. Now support: LBX, pictures, graphic palettes, texts, fonts, sounds, leaders information, races abilities and races cost abilities files (see detail at page). Also the package included the description of the aforementioned formats.

If Lord Brazen has nothing against it, I would like to use this topic of a forum for discussion on the package on English (Russian topic of a forum on the package here). Your wishes, guidelines and other ideas. :)

Screenshorts:

Nice. For some odd reason the race pick editor locks up on loading the race file from the extracted LBX.

edit: I figured out why. If you try to load anything but Racestuf.lbx.007 it locks up.

Yes. Any editor open any file as its own. Even if this is not the case. It can reduce to editor work crashes (or bugs). Unfortunaly MoO2 files have not the special header sign for identify their type on a their contents.

I understand that. They seem have hard-coded almost every bit of file access in the game itself. Just having decoded all the formats is a major accomplishment. Some modders do tend to ignore the instructions and just plow-in but this game's files don't really permit that kind of approach. I suppose you could do a checksum on each file to see if it's the right type prior to loading but the extra overhead would slow it down some.

It is possible to make easier. LBX Editor has the database on type of files. If the editor open the file of an "another" type, it is possible an put a question. The user will decide itself - open or not open.
