Orbit vs Satellite Types Table

Here is the Orbit vs Satellite Type table used when generating systems.
When generating the satellites in a star system, the orbit is factored in. The table above represents the type of satellite that will be in a given orbit if there is a satellite at all (not all orbits get a satellite but if they do, it will be the type from this table). A random number between 0-9 is generated and the type of satellite vs its orbit number is looked up.
Also, you should note that type 4 is special. I haven't looked deep enough into the code yet to figure out what it is.
Code: Select all
The Orbit vs Satellite Type table is at offset 0x1F3D10 in orion2.exe v1.31.

04 01 01 01 02 NOTES:
03 02 01 02 02
03 03 02 02 02 - Columns are orbit numbers in star system
03 03 02 02 02 - Row is a random number (0-9)
03 03 03 03 02 - Each element is the satellite type allowed in that orbit. As follows:
03 03 03 03 03 1 = Asteroid
03 03 03 03 03 2 = Gas Giant
03 03 03 03 03 3 = Planet
03 03 03 03 03 4 = special
