Has anyone modded the documentation? v1.40b23/24

I was wondering if anyone has made a mod that just modifies the in-game descriptions to match the game post-mod.

One thing that always gets me is the Marine Barracks.

It doesn't immediately generate 4 soldiers, and the max isn't strictly the population
The Maximum number of soldiers appears to be = 1/2 pop. not 1x pop.

It would also be great if the outpost noted it gives a free marine barracks when colonised

To edit ingame description (help.lbx) you can use text editor of the moo2 workshop package. Before you load the file with text editor, you need to extract it with the lbx editor of the package.

Many ingame descriptions are either inaccurate or incorrect. But Moo2 Manual (.pdf) has better and more accurate descriptions of all items.

Understood. I was hoping someone had already made the corrections and posted them online.

The thing is that this is kind of item once you realize how it works you never need its description again. So no wonder noone noticed it before...Another case is quantitive parameters of weapons or other things, which need specification...Anyway, I'd advise to read the MoO2Manual for accurate descriptions of all things.

Hai Pants,

I have just finished an updated HELP.lbx
It enhances and corrects many descriptions.
Has updated Marine & Armor Barracks and Outpost Ship in there.
And also Space Academy, etc.
Updated race descriptions inspired by the printed manual.
Clarified a bit more the 4 governments, transdimensional and warlord (in custom race screen)
Works with DOS 1.31 & 1.40.b23/b24
Have not tested with windows version (but who uses that nowadays).

Have posted it on the MOO2 facebook group
