Patch? VDC?

Hey. I'm new here. Not sure if this is exactly the right place to ask this.

Apparently there's a community-made patch or somesuch? I'm just wondering exactly what it is, what it does, and so on?

And people seem to be mentioning "VDC" a lot. Is that a nickname for the patch, or for a popular mod, or what?

Ah, thanks. Sorry for not checking things out thoroughly - I've got really limited internet access these days.

And I guess there's info about the mod on someone's blog? I guess I'll check that out sometime.
