Question before I start modding

I wanted to make a mod that actually limits the game.

No or few Advance tech tree increases.
Limit or remove some technologies.
Increase strengths of all monsters and Antarians and Guardian

That's pretty much it. I don't want mass bonuses or uber upgrades, just that. I saw there was a mod that increased the monster and antarian strenghts but did a whole lot more I didnt want.

Any pointers would help. Good to see others still playing this besides me.
If you have a car that can go the speed of light, don't bother turning the headlights on.

You can't actually change how any of the techs work, not directly anyway.

But you can take them out of the tech tree or move them about/make them more costly in terms of research.

You can also change the usefulness of those things that must be built by changing their cost and the space they use (for ship components).
