Tables browse

Postby Grig de Griz » Tue Nov 15, 2005 6:48 am

I researched the file "Orion2.exe" and searched for the balance tables. Part from that I have found coincides with Lord Brazen's documentations (see this forum). It is good - my approach is valid (in this problem is incredible, that two man equally be mistaken).

By current moment, I have following list of offsets, which can be starts of the balance tables. I did not study deeply all tables, only those, which I have put on a forum. I shall be study other tables in a near future. I shall edit this list in accordance with its change.

Code: Select all

----------------------------------------------------------------------- Offset | Description ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 0x9A0DC | 6 records of 3 bytes (Rifles Table); 0x9A0EE | 2 records of 3 bytes (Troop's Shields Table); 0x9A0F4 | 4 records of 3 bytes (Planetary Shields Table); 0x1F3F58 | 84 records of 23 bytes (??? Technologies Categories Table?); 0x1F46CD | 212 records of 13 bytes (??? Main Technologies Table? | 204 tech + 8 minimz = 212); 0x1F5191 | 50 records of 19 bytes (??? Buildings Table?); 0x1F5534 | 40 records of 47 bytes (??? Specials Table?); 0x1F5C8C | 7 records of 15 bytes (Armors Table); 0x1F5CF5 | 6 records of 59 bytes (Ship Shields Table); 0x1F5E57 | 46 records of 28 bytes; ??? 0x1F635F | 15 records of 15 bytes; ??? 0x1F6440 | 6 records of 22 bytes (Ship Computers Table); 0x1F64C4 | 7 records of 46 bytes (Drives Table); 0x1F6606 | 4 records of 12 bytes; ??? 0x1F6636 | 6 records of 10 bytes (Fuel Cells Table); 0x1F6672 | 9 records of 36 bytes (Hulls Types Table). -----------------------------------------------------------------------
The tables for 0x9A0DC to 0x9A0F4 (for 0x1F3F58 to 0x1F6672) are disposed in the order, it is very convenient.

Thx for all your contributions. Especially the planet shields thing is awesome. I will add it in the next mod.

@ overview:

0x1F3F58 there begins the part which you could mod with the old OCL editor. (LB added some further tables in his OCL edition and I hope he will add your tables, too.)

You find some description of the OCL tables here:
