I'll go out on a limb and predict that I might still be playing Space Empires 5 after 12 years. Yes, it's that good. Still a couple of bugs and UI improvements I'd like to see addressed, but I'm spending way too much time playing this game for my own good. (patches have slowed now, but safe bet tha...

I just want a similar map style. Look at Civ 3 and Civ 4. They improved Civ 1 and Civ 2, with adding animation and better graphics without changing the basic concept (of it being a chess piece on a tile, moving from square to square) style of play. Any sequel would have to keep the basic elements t...

Innovative Ideas for the Next MOO
I thought that I would post some ideas for the next generation of MOO. 1)Have an RTS battle option so that the tactical combat part of the game plays in real-time, which should help reduce wait times in multi-player games. 2)Use a top notch 3D graphics and physics system instead of just rolling dice...

Re: This will probably sound silly....browser based?
It could be done but it probably wouldn't perform as well.Think there could be any hope to port MOO2 into one of those browser based games?
I've seen some complex ones...

Sounds ambitious. LBX is basically just a way to store a collection of data assets. There are few approaches you might take. The first would be query other LBX tool developers to see if they'll let you have the info they used to make their tool(s). The next way would be to solve the riddle of how ea...

Hi! Thanks for your reply. I opened the Orion95.exe with IDA Pro, but I couldn't identify anything. I don't know how to find the offsets for the things that are listed in the thread I linked above, e.g. the offsets for the ship type or the weapon slots. Can you explain it to me? Or are there any ot...

Re: Is it possible to change the computer AI picks
I think you can with map/race editor tools. I think Siron has some links to them on his blog. What you do is start a game up then edit the save file.just want to know thanks
The AI will play a better game but is still no match for good human player.

Not bad – has some interesting features. But it’s not what people expecting, when they read the title “The origin of the Orion” (Bible for example has more reliable life born explanation <<it’s not religion agitation, it’s just sarcasm) Thanks for the feedback. So what are you expecting? Also, I wr...

Like you said, it is fiction, it's good. I suspect another is in the works, going into the races, and how they came to be. :) Also, I followed your link to The Orion Sector, then to Horizons homepage. Horizons seems to have some MOO2 elements, race creation, ship design. I read of 4-5 Hull types. T...
