how do you sign NAPs when you're repulsive? and are trade/research treaties worth having? You can ask for a chat in game or use private chat on Kali or IRC. It's just an aggreement between two players. You assume both players will honor it. If you break the NA it's unlikely they will want to play w...
How does diplomacy work in multiplayer? do you get a better looking avatar with better music when you pick charismatic or telepathic? Diplomacy is limited in MP. In x-ways you can do non-aggression packs for x number of turns. This is useful early in the game because if you go to war, both parties ...
FYI new players, First, visit Lord Brazen's and Siron's blogs. LB's blog has the patch and some info on dosbox. Siron's blog has a wealth of information for new players. It has some walkthroughs for setting up MOO2 for online play and a strategy guide. http://lordbrazen.blogspot.com http://masterofo...
I've started working on a slightly more humble project. Hopefully, it will be able to open a save game file, preserve starting game data (players, race picks, home worlds, etc), generate a new (balanced) map and overwrite the original save. If all goes well, each balanced map should be unique. I'm g...
This is an actual save game between me and Lazarus. My economy is better but I have not built up any defenses yet. Lazarus has a BB, Some DDS, serveral transports and outpost ships.
So the puzzle is to either stop the rush as me or win the rush victory as Lazarus.
I've tested this a few times by uninstalling the game, reinstalling it and applying the patch. Without the patch the mouse movement is jerky but with it you get a memory dump after exiting the game. This is with orion95, the 1.31 patch and the MOO2 1.31 mouse patch.
Thanks but I can handle the coding part of the problem. It will just take me a while to figure out how to make changes to the game without introducing more bugs to fix.
There's no reason why changes couldn't be applied to both versions. The windows version does have some advantages. Win32 apps are inherently better at threading than DOS programs. Switching between screens is smoother and the music doesn't skip a beat. The main reason for not using orion95.exe is th...
I think you should explain the switches. Or refer to LBs FAQ there. You're right. I will post a new update soon. Otherwise good stuff...but I am more interested in formulae...I don't see why you cant derive probabilities for spying success when you know max and min rolls. You can at least derive th...
I'm considering writting a patch for the windows 95 version. Here are some ideas for the patch. First, fix the networking code. It should be worth it to upgrade to Directplay8. The earlier versions of Directplay were pretty bad in terms of overhead. That may be the main cause of all the lag with the...
