Re: Colony spamming and terraforming
Thank you for your help. With GUI added this is now easy to use and very powerfull tool. And with little playing around you can create every scenario you can imagine, even my idea is now easy to implement. Increasing number of gas giants and asteroid fields and pushing planet construction way back i...

Re: Colony spamming and terraforming
The main complaint of Darza about the game is that the tech tree, cost of buildings and poor AI tactics allows to abuse blitz game. You start with telepathic skill, produce one battleship (or cruiser) and easily capture everyone else...so all the rest development becomes pointless. And "good player...

Re: MOO II long play mod
I also like to play long scenarios, and I tend to play with slow expansion, focusing more on diplomacy and R&D. No fun for me in quick wins. I did something similar with research. But I used exponential growth of values. If I recall correctly I used exponent of 1,12. This resulted in slight cost inc...

Re: Colony spamming and terraforming
Hahaha ovo je predobro! Pozdrav i tebi! Again I see your points and by reading your posts I see that you are much more experienced MOO2 player than me. I don't mind someone to know more than me and I admit I am not an expert player, but again I am not a total noob. I am playing this game from ...

Re: Colony spamming and terraforming
I admit I am not the best player of MOO2 but also not the worst. I see your points, but again not all players finish game in 100 turns. I had a lots of games going well above that number and I enjoyed them much. Also I never wanted or asked someone to make my fantasies into mods. I already moded gam...

Re: Colony spamming and terraforming
I can't see how having 20 gaia planets is doing something wrong. And don't remember terraforming being that much pricey in my games. Maybe you are talking from a multiplayer point of view. I don't have exp with MP, or perhaps you are thinking about small galaxy size games. I am talking about long ep...

Colony spamming and terraforming
Recently I'm playing Armada 2526 Supernova, the only new space TBS that got my attention after MOO2 (is this a sad world or am I just to picky :?:) The game realy has sam interesting concepts, one of them, not colonizable systems/planets, well at least not until you discover some late techs. Couple ...

Picking my enemies. Is it possible?
One of the biggest drawbacks of MOO 2 for me is the lacking of the option to pick and customize your enemies. The game just randomly decides wich races will be your opponents in the game, and their behaviour also. This is lame. I want evil spying Darlocks in all my games, and I dont want stupid Klac...

I got your point. I will experiment with numbers. Maybe applay smaller exponent so that numbers dont raise that much. I will try to play the game and see what happens. As mentioned before in this posts I always wanted research to be more challenging, and thus new techs more rewarding, especialy late...

I havent been on this forum for quite some time... unfortunately real life constraints took me away from MOO 2 for quite some time. But reacently I have more free time and I want to play moo 2 again. So I remembered this forum. It seems that activity is more or less the same. I also remembered this ...

I like your idea very much I was thinking of something similar. I tried increasing RP x2 and x3 but I end up hiting next turn like craz...

Thanks for your quick replay guys. Those links were helpful. The reason why i built so many defensive agents is that i wanted to outnumber Darlocks who sent about 50 on me. So I tought at least outnumbering them will help. But if they have high spying bonus + impossible level and more or less all co...

Some gameplay questions
I have few questions concerning the gameplay: 1. How miniturization, achieved through researching hayper-advanced techs, exactly works? I know that it reduces the space for weapons in ships. Does it affects the other things in game? 2. How spying actualy work and how the number of spys affects their...
