I beg to differ. I think map playing will advance the game style of MoO2 to the next level. MoO2 need some fresh and more advanced playing style IMHO the situation is just opposite - playing a couple of pre-generated maps over and over again would be really boring. Sorry for digging this old thread up, but I wanted to see what kind DOSBox configurations people use... IMO 80000 CPU cycles is way too much for P4 1,5GHz, I use 60000 with Core2Duo E6600 (2,4 GHz). Remember once tryig to find the upper limit, and @ about 84000 I started having stutters. Other thing...

In this I'm a bit conservative: in MOO Radiated was most difficult to colonise and Toxic was easier, so I'd like the same situation to be true in MOO2 too. :) Maybe there's a bit in the .exe or one of the .lbx's that tells the game if that planet can be terraformed or not? Oh, the AI will capture and colonize Orion, if you give it enough time to attempt it - usually around turn 300, maybe a tad sooner when playing hard or impossible. Never seen it to capture Antarans though. Or build Dimensional Portal (maybe I should build one myself, and give the system to AI to see...
